What Happens to Our Bodies When We Walk Barefoot

Most of us either wear shoes or slippers inside the house, so it should come as no surprise that when we go outdoors, we do the same thing. In fact, in some scenarios (such as in the winter or during a run, etc.) we put on specific shoes to perform that specific activity. However, a study published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health titled: ‘Earthling: Human Implications of Reconnecting the Human Body to the Earth’s Surface Electrons’ say that ‘earthing’ could be a potential treatment for many chronic degenerative diseases.Earthing or grounding is the practice that involves placing your feet directly on the ground without any barriers.

This practice is supposed to recharge the person as well as absorb the energy that is radiated from the Earth.
Now, this might at first sound like pseudoscience to most people but in reality putting our feet on the ground helps us take in a lot of negative electrons through our feet. This process is supposed to help keep you at the same negatively charged state that the Earth is in itself.

The study stated that being barefoot outside can help protect us from chronic stress, inflammation, poor sleep, insomnia and much more. The same piece of research also states that grounding is just as essential and beneficial to our health as sunshine and water!

Grounding is also supposed to be a terrific antioxidant since grounding helps us normalize our stress hormones.Walking bare feet on the ground is beneficial because walking is a great form of exercise but by walking without shoes on we become more connected to the world and nature itself.

Most People Don’t Realize What Happens To Your Body 10 Hours After Applying Nail Polish

Remember when you were a child and your mother told you that you weren’t allowed to wear nail polish because you were too young? Or, how about when she told you that nail polish would damage your nails?
Turns out she was right. Nail polish is damaging to your nails especially as a child when your body is still developing. Even once you’ve grown up wearing too much nail polish without allowing your nails time to breathe, this can cause them to become brittle and yellow.
Although, you don’t have to completely avoid using the pretty polish. Here are a few of the negative effects that nail polish has on your body.
As you may know, nail polish is made up of a bunch of toxic chemicals that are capable of not only damaging your nails but damaging your health.

Toluene is a solvent also known as a chemical responsible for dissolving other chemicals. This chemical gives the nail polish its smooth finish and maintains its color.
Toluene can cause reproductive disorders and also affects the central nervous system. The likely consequences of this chemical are headaches, fainting, weakness, and nausea.

Another chemical found in nail polish is formaldehyde, a colorless gas that preserves the polish over long periods of time.

If you have any allergies, formaldehyde can potentially cause dermatitis and chemical burns.

In more severe cases, formaldehyde can cause issues in the heart rhythm and convulsions. This harmful chemical is even linked to cancer.
Dibutyl phthalate causes the overall unsettling fragrance of the nail polish. This component is dangerous to your health as it can cause gynecological diseases, diseases of the respiratory tract and endocrine disorders.

In a study scientists conducted 6 hours after a group of women painted their nails, most participants showed an increased amount of dibutyl phosphate.

Dibutyl phosphate is derived from triphenyl phosphate which is formed in your body’s metabolism process. Envision a chemical so strong its function is to digest food except on your nails.

10 hours after the experiment, the patients alarmingly had 7 times above the normal levels of diphenyl phosphate in their systems.

Lastly, camphor is another scented substance found in nail polish that nail techniques are advised not to inhale in high doses. This chemical like toluene causes nausea, dizziness, and headaches.

As previously mentioned, there is no need to stop using all nail polish because some are less harmful to your health than others.
